Archive: Town of Lockhart
Lockhart, one of South Carolina's smallest towns, was built in the late 1800s around a textile mill.
At one time the nation's largest producer of car-interior fabric, the town prospered for about 100 years.
But after the mill's closure in 1994, the town, home to a rare K-12 school, has struggled to survive.
